今天——12月8日是“摇滚之父”约翰·列侬遇刺身亡31周年的纪念日。岁月的无情不仅在于它的悄然流逝，更在于它会冲淡甚至消逝很多人类的记忆。约翰·列侬创作了经典之作《想象》，但他或许从未想象过自己将与流逝的岁月抗衡：在他逝世多年之后，人们非但没有将约翰·列侬的名字遗忘，反而不断激活和刷新对他传奇人生、音乐世界与和平理想的记忆。让我们回顾一下他的几首经典作品。从写三分钟的短情歌到写二十分钟实验作品，离开“披头士”（The Beatles）之后的列侬成为真正意义上的独立个体，也成为乐队成员中最具文艺气质的一个。

这首歌就是PC时代的《Amazing Grace》。《Amazing Grace》这首福音歌全美国都会唱，全英国都知道原作者是出自伦敦，与之相比，《Imagine》的普及程度一点也不逊色。此曲不仅成为所有“最伟大歌曲”列单的前几名，而且自面世之日起就频繁出现在重要场合，列侬眼里此曲堪比他在“披头士”时期最出色的作品，大众对此毫无疑问。《Imagine》跟《Give Peace a Chance》成为他个人留给世间最重要的两首歌曲，它们的影响力已超过音乐范畴，成为文化动力，美国前总统克林顿曾在公开场合演唱过此曲；利物浦的列侬机场，宣传标语就是歌中歌词“Above us only sky”。

《(Just Like) Starting Over》

选自专辑：《Double Fantasy》

列侬死后这首歌曲在英美两地的单曲榜上有着两周冠军的纪录。以成绩论这首歌超过《Imagine》跟《Give Peace a Chance》，在美国单曲榜坚持六周冠军，是他个人商业成绩最好的单曲。此曲是专辑《Double Fantasy》里的第一支单曲，选择它并不是因为它在专辑里最出色，而是因为，这首歌很好地表明了列侬重新进行艺术创作的决心，在此之前他经历五年的沉寂，由于他跟小野洋子（Yoko Ono）的小儿子西恩·列侬（Sean Lennon）的出生他一度过上全职父亲的生活。

选自专辑：《Double Fantasy》

所有人都清楚，这首歌曲是献给小野洋子，自从与她相爱列侬的世界里就只剩下这一位女性，他从不避讳，甚至是极力表现两人之间伟大的爱情。《Woman》之前列侬还为她唱过一首《Mother》。这两首歌曲虽相差甚远，但感情相同，面对这个女人列侬将自己最脆弱最不完美的一面表现出来，他甚至不怕向她深爱的女人道歉悔过。“披头士”时期列侬曾写过一首《Girl》，《Woman》可以看作是前一首的成熟版。此曲开场列侬念到一句中国谚语，“女人是半边天”。

选自专辑：《Working Class Hero (The Definitive Lennon)》

列侬所有伟大主张，和平、博爱、平等、交流、献身都蕴含在这一首歌曲。此曲除了与《Imagine》和《Give Peace a Chance》一起被收录在《滚石》杂志的“历史上五百金曲”中，还创下一纪录，用列侬自己的话讲，这首歌在他吃早点时写成，吃午饭时录成，吃晚饭时发行完毕。虽不如《Imagine》传唱，但这首歌曲的影响力与前者不相上下，每每都会成为自由、革命的象征。从后世对这首歌曲的认可度看，其影响力深远，斯蒂芬·金（Stephen King)作品《闪灵》(The Shining)的命名就来自这首歌曲中的歌词“We all shine on...”。
