失踪16年　美国登山家遗体在西藏寻获: 美国登山家洛威与摄像师布里奇斯16年前在西藏段喜马拉雅山遇雪崩失踪，两人遗体上周被其他登山者寻获。

美国两名登山者在西藏段喜马拉雅山遇上雪崩失踪16年后，近日被其他登山者在冰川中发现其遗体。

1999年10月5日，世界知名登山家洛威（Alex Lowe）与摄像师布里奇斯（David Bridge）试图征服海拔8013米的希夏邦马峰期间遭遇巨型雪崩，自此失踪。

洛威遗孀证实，两人遗体上周被发现，且据发现者描述仍然被冰封。她形容两人的“时光凝住了”。

中国网络媒体星期一（5月2日）陆续开始报道此消息，当天正值中国登山队首登希夏邦马峰52周年，也是人类首次征服这座山峰。

 

据官方背景的中国西藏网介绍，希夏邦马峰在世界上14座8000米级高峰中排名14，且是唯一一座完全在中国境内的8000米级山峰，峰名藏语意指气候严寒、天气恶劣多变。

于行政规划上，希夏邦马峰属西藏日喀则市聂拉木县辖地。

洛威在登山界享誉甚丰。

终年40岁的洛威被认为是当代最重要的登山家，在登山运动群体中更因为曾是多名登山者的救命恩人而为人熟悉。他与终年29岁的布里奇斯是好友兼登山伙伴。

洛威遗孀珍妮弗·洛威—安克（Jennifer Lowe-Anker） 上星期五（4月29日）发表声明说，她上周与现任丈夫安克（Conrad Anker）在尼泊尔接到德国知名登山家戈特（David Goettler）和瑞士登山家斯特克（Ueli Steck）从西藏打来的电话。

戈特与斯特克当时正攀登希夏邦马峰的南坡。据两人所描述，洛威与布里奇斯的遗体仍被封在蔚蓝色的冰块内，但渐渐从冰川中冒出，意味着冰块开始融化。

声明说，根据戈特与斯特克所描述的行装与服饰，洛威—安克确认两名死者“毫无疑问”是洛威与布里奇斯。

安克接受美国《户外》杂志采访时说，相比于登山向导或一般登山者，由登山探险家来找回遇难登山探险家的遗体，是“贴切不过”的结局。

安克在1999年随同洛威与布里奇斯一同攀登希夏邦马峰，雪崩发生时只受了轻伤。他随后与其他登山者花了许多天寻找两人下落未果。

2001年，安克与洛威遗孀结婚，并领养了洛威的两名孩子。两人并以洛威的名义成立了一个慈善团体。夫妇俩接到戈特与斯特克的电话时正要结束在加德满都视察攀山培训学校建设工程，准备返回美国。

 

洛威曾救助多位遇险登山者。

预料两人的遗体将被运出冰川，但未知搬运工作将如何进行。西藏有关部门的网站和微博目前尚无任何评论。

安克认为两人遗体寻获为举家上下带来安慰，洛威—安克夫人也在声明中说，他们一家将到希夏邦马峰“朝圣”，“现在是时候让阿历克斯安息”。

On Thursday the 27th of April, my wife Jennifer and I were walking back from a brief visit with Liz Hawley, the venerated historian of high altitude climbing in Nepal. It was a wonderful way to end a month of work with the Khumbu Climbing Center. I received a call from David Goetttler who was on the south side Shishapangma, Tibet, the 14th highest peak in the world. He and Ueli Steck were acclimatizing at the same base camp that I had used on our 1999 post monsoon expedition.

David calmly explained that they had found the remains of David Bridges and Alex Lowe. The memorial plaque that we left at base camp, the known fatalities on Shishapangma, the clothing and equipment all indicated that our two friends had emerged from the ice.

The outpouring of compassion from friends and the public at large has been most comforting. We have connected with the Bridges and Lowe families and talked about how we will progress. For Jennifer, Max, Sam and Isaac – our family – this brings a sense of closure. It brings back the emotion that we all went through in October of 1999 and at the same time a wave of relief. We will organize a trek with our families to bring peace to David and Alex. We will follow local custom for attending to bodies.

It will be an intense journey, yet one that will bring solace.
